When a strong man, fully armed, guards his own palace, his goods are at peace.1Luke 11:21
If there is no peace in my home….
My Prayer: Lord forgive me for not standing strong and not being fully armed. Forgive me for neglecting time with you. You are faithful, You are my strength. Forgive me for not holding tightly to Your teachings for they prepare me. Forgive me for not trusting You and taking you at Your word; in faith I am armed for victory.
Heal me from the effects of my sin that I may fulfill the role of husband and father that You created me for. Please in Your mercy heal my wife and children from the effects of my sin. Amen
God is love.21Jo 4:8 NIV Whoever does not love does not know God, because God is love.21Jo 4:16 NIV And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him.
God means nothing until He means everything.
Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It is not rude, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.31 Cor 13:4-8a NIV
Remember the enemy speaks lies.4Joh 8:44 NIV You belong to your father, the devil, and you want to carry out your father’s desire. He was a murderer from the beginning, not holding to the truth, for there is no truth in him. When he lies, he speaks his native language, for he is a liar and the father of lies. Lies are his native tongue. Let’s look through the eyes of faith at our circumstances. Is anything impossible for God?2Mt 19:26 NIV Jesus looked at them and said, “With man this is impossible, but with God all things are possible.”3Mr 10:27 AV And Jesus looking upon them saith, With men it is impossible, but not with God: for with God all things are possible. God is not sleeping4Ps 121:3 AV He will not suffer thy foot to be moved: he that keepeth thee will not slumber. – He sees the totality of our circumstances. He is able to make ALL THINGS work for our good.5Ro 8:28 AV And we know that all things work together for good to them that love God, to them who are the called according to his purpose. In faith let’s continue to do good for at the proper time we will reap a reward!6Gal 6:9 NIV Let us not become weary in doing good, for at the proper time we will reap a harvest if we do not give up. As men we are called to love our wives like Christ loved the church.7Eph 5:25-30 AV Husbands, love your wives, even as Christ also loved the church, and gave himself for it; that he might sanctify and cleanse it with the washing of water by the word, that he might present it to himself a glorious church, not having spot, or wrinkle, or any such thing; but that it should be holy and without blemish. So ought men to love their wives as their own bodies. He that loveth his wife loveth himself. For no man ever yet hated his own flesh; but nourisheth and cherisheth it, even as the Lord the church: for we are members of his body, of his flesh, and of his bones.8Col 3:19 AV Husbands, love your wives, and be not bitter against them. Remember he didn’t lose His life, He laid it down.9Joh 10:17-18 AV Therefore doth my Father love me, because I lay down my life, that I might take it again. No man taketh it from me, but I lay it down of myself. I have power to lay it down, and I have power to take it again. This commandment have I received of my Father. Let’s see all things as an opportunity to love. It’s way bigger than us, we cannot go it alone. Remember Jesus said he could do nothing on His own.10Joh 5:19 NIV Jesus gave them this answer: “I tell you the truth, the Son can do nothing by himself; he can do only what he sees his Father doing, because whatever the Father does the Son also does.11Joh 5:30 AV I can of mine own self do nothing: as I hear, I judge: and my judgment is just; because I seek not mine own will, but the will of the Father which hath sent me. It is an impossible task that is possible with God. We must ask Him to give us His love for our wives. It is important for us to remove all hindrances to love by confessing our sins in agreement with God. God is love121Jo 4:8 AV He that loveth not knoweth not God; for God is love.131Jo 4:16 NIV And so we know and rely on the love God has for us. God is love. Whoever lives in love lives in God, and God in him. therefore if we are in agreement with Him we are in agreement with love. Our hardened hearts create blind spots within us. We must examine the overflow of our hearts through our words and actions to see the areas that are in opposition with God.14Mt 12:34 NIV You brood of vipers, how can you who are evil say anything good? For out of the overflow of the heart the mouth speaks.15Lu 6:45 NIV The good man brings good things out of the good stored up in his heart, and the evil man brings evil things out of the evil stored up in his heart. For out of the overflow of his heart his mouth speaks. If we ask God to soften our hearts, He will through repentance. To maintain a softened heart we must confess every time we sin even if we commit it over and over. The enemy will tell us we don’t need to confess it again because we just confessed it 5 minutes ago. He is a liar!
