Sinner Saved by Grace

For he hath made him to be sin for us, who knew no sin; that we might be made the righteousness of God in him.1

Since Christ became sin, when we confess our sins are we confessing Christ?2  3  4  5

Since Christ became sin, sin also died on the cross.  Since the wages of sin is death,6 and Christ died, what has become of sin?7

Since Christ became sin, did he become the verb sin?  No, he was without sin,8 therefore he must have become the noun sin –the noun sin being composed of the sinful acts committed by others which Christ Jesus bore on the cross.9

Christ was made sin for us.  Christ was himself sinless.  We are made the righteousness of God in Christ.  Since the law came to make us aware of sin,10  11  12 did the law come to make us aware of Christ –our need for a savior?

The law is only able to save those who have not broken it, consequently it condemns those who have.  Once we have sinned the law is powerless to help us.13  Being aware of sin, and not knowing Jesus as Lord and Savior, brings condemnation however, once Jesus is Lord and Savior, conviction resulting from sin points us back to Jesus!14

Christ Jesus is the light of the world.15 If confession brings sin into the light,16  17  18 does confessing our sins bring them into Christ?19

Since Christ became sin, what has become of the sinner who is in Christ Jesus?  Do sinner and Christian become synonyms in Christ?20  Christ became sin to save sinners.21

Therefore, brothers, since we have confidence to enter the Most Holy Place by the blood of Jesus, by a new and living way opened for us through the curtain, that is, his body, and since we have a great priest over the house of God, let us draw near to God with a sincere heart in full assurance of faith, having our hearts sprinkled to cleanse us from a guilty conscience and having our bodies washed with pure water.  Let us hold unswervingly to the hope we profess, for he who promised is faithful.  And let us consider how we may spur one another on towards love and good deeds.  Let us not give up meeting together, as some are in the habit of doing, but let us encourage one another—and all the more as you see the Day approaching.22
